Candidates should have between two and five years of experience engaging with the U.S. federal regulators, particularly the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, but also the Securities and Exchange Commission or prudential banking regulators, on compliance, rulemakings, enforcement, and general strategic policy. Pesticides Regulatory Specialist

Steptoe, an AmLaw 100 firm, has an immediate opening for technical and regulatory specialist to join its Chemical & Life Sciences team.  The position involves working with our experienced science and regulatory professionals on registration and other regulatory issues for antimicrobial, conventional and biochemical pesticides.


Candidate will work with clients and, on behalf of clients, directly with the US Environmental Protection Agency, the Office of Pesticide Programs, as well as state agencies.  Must be people and detail oriented, have good written and oral skills and be willing to work independently.  Experience with EPA antimicrobial and/or pesticide registration and regulation strongly preferred.  To the extent necessary, the selected candidate will receive on-the-job training on relevant regulations and requirements.

Taking and defending depositions, including of experts, and courtroom hearing experience is preferred. Our new associate would join an international team that represents a broad range of retail, e-commerce, and hospitality businesses.  Our work includes consumer class actions, complex business disputes, fraud and business torts, and advertising compliance issues. Experience with UCL, FAL, and CLRA is a plus.  Admission to the California bar required.

Experienced Trusts and Estates Associate with broad knowledge of international estate planning and related income tax issues, such as PFIC and CFC issues. Needs to be proficient in drafting complex, sophisticated estate planning documents and in structuring vehicles for in-bound and outbound US income tax planning. The associates will focus their practice on white collar criminal trial work, government investigations and internal investigations, as well as complex civil litigation including commercial disputes and securities class actions.
